The NBMS Department of Negotiations and Physician Compensation ensures physicians receive reasonable remuneration for the care they provide to New Brunswickers. They are responsible for ongoing contract management for all forms of physician remuneration in New Brunswick.
The negotiations and physician compensation team works with the provincial government and WorkSafeNB to set fee schedules, benefits, reimbursement programs, incentives, and physician remuneration for Fee-for-Service, Salaried, and Alternate Funding Plan (AFP) physicians.
The team is also responsible for special projects and initiatives like the Specialty Care Initiative, the Paperwork Task Force and the Technology Review Committee and supports several committees including the Negotiating Committee, the FFS and Salaried Economics Committee and the Joint Oversight Committee.
