René Boudreau (he/him) | Chief Executive Officer | rboudreau@nbms.nb.ca

René is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the NBMS and the general management of the Society while representing New Brunswick physicians and advocating for the health of patients to the government, provincial and national partner organizations, as well as the public.

Prior to joining the NBMS is 2023, René worked in progressively more senior roles within the healthcare, postsecondary education, research and innovation, economic development and intergovernmental affairs sectors.

René holds a bachelor’s degree in arts from the Université de Moncton and studied philosophy at the master’s level at Université Paul Valéry III in Montpellier, France as well as public policy at the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy at the University of Regina.

Lisa LePage (she/her) | Chief Operating Officer | llepage@nbms.nb.ca

Lisa is responsible for providing leadership, direction, management, and vision to the daily operations of the NBMS to ensure financial strength and operational efficiency.

Prior to joining the NBMS in 2018, Lisa worked in progressively more senior roles in economic development, including leadership positions in Opportunities New Brunswick and the provincial Department of Economic Development.

Lisa holds a master degree in business administration from the University of New Brunswick. She sits on the board of directors of the Fredericton International Airport Authority and is past-president of the YMCA Fredericton.

Nora Lacey (she/her) | Chief of Physician & Patient Engagement | nlacey@nbms.nb.ca

Nora develops initiatives that position the NBMS as a visionary thought leader in health care and advocacy programs that impress, provoke, and command attention.

A senior strategist with more than 30 years of experience in both the private and public sectors, Nora earned progressively senior roles in the Canadian airline and telecommunications sectors before relocating to Doha, Qatar to gain international market experience.

Upon repatriation to New Brunswick, Nora spent six years with the New Brunswick Liquor Corporation managing the marketing and communications departments before becoming the director of research, marketing, and communication at Invest NB in August 2012. Nora held various executive positions at Opportunities New Brunswick from 2012-2017 before transitioning to the NBMS.

Nora is the current chair of the Canadian Lung Association.

John Maher (he/him) | Chief of Negotiations & Physician Compensation | jmaher@nbms.nb.ca

John leads all economics-related activity at the NBMS. Since joining the society in 1994, he has been involved with and supported the organization’s economics and negotiating committee, leading the NBMS negotiating team in all physician contract negotiations with the provincial government. He is responsible for ongoing contract management of fee-for-service, salaried, and alternate funding plan contracts.

He also oversees Family Medicine New Brunswick, the NBMS’s innovative team-based family medicine program.

John has a bachelor’s degree in arts from St. Thomas University, a computer specialist diploma from Atlantic Business College, and has completed graduate studies in business from the University of New Brunswick.

Tim Ross (he/him) | General Counsel | tross@nbms.nb.ca

Tim provides strategic legal advice on matters affecting the NBMS.  He is responsible for the drafting, management and renewal of all NBMS contracts, and provides the organization with advice on governance, privacy, and employment matters.

Tim has held a variety of roles in business and law over the course of his career.  He worked in sales and management roles within a growing agriculture business in Alberta before returning to law school.  He then practiced in corporate and civil litigation law at a mid-sized litigation firm in Calgary prior to joining the NBMS in 2015.

Tim holds undergraduate degrees in Journalism and Political Science, and received his L.L.B. from the University of Calgary.
