This is an extremely challenging period for our province with double-digit COVID-19 cases being announced daily. Public Health and government have said that this week will be critical in our fight against this virus. Recent updates have been disheartening, but we must not lose hope. As of this writing, more than 10,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in our province, many to health-care providers. Happy New Year. I hope you were able to enjoy a safe, happy holiday season. We are beginning the year with the unfortunate but not unexpected news of COVID-19 spreading rapidly following the holiday season. I remain optimistic that with Public Health’s guidance, the dedication of health-care professionals, and the co-operation of New Brunswickers, we will get this under control in short order.
