The Future of Healthcare in Edmundston and Grand Falls
On September 25 and 26, the NBMS hosted a community forum on the state of primary care in Edmundston and Grand Falls.
The NBMS had conducted an analysis of primary care resources and access across New Brunswick, and our findings indicated that Edmundston and Grand Falls are at risk due to the demographics of both patients and providers. This situation is already affecting the quality of healthcare services available in the community, and without significant and coordinated action by stakeholders, communities, Regional Health Authorities, and the government, it is expected to worsen.
The forum included a presentation of the primary care data specific to Edmundston and Grand Falls, along with best practices that have been effective in other regions. This presentation was followed by a discussion with local physicians and a Q&A session.

We would like to thank everyone who attended the event and contributed to the discussion.
