Social Media Community Guidelines

Our social platforms are for everyone.

The New Brunswick Medical Society (NBMS/Médecins NB Docs/NB Docs) does not endorse the views or opinions of user comments on our social posts. We encourage respectful discussions, sharing diverse perspectives, and posting relevant content that contributes to meaningful engagement.

Moderation


The NBMS’ platforms are monitored 8:30 am to 4:30 pm local time, Monday to Friday. If you are concerned about the activity or comments on a post, please contact info@nbms.nb.ca.

If users feel content violates third-party platform guidelines, they can report the post or comment to the respective platform (Meta, LinkedIn, or YouTube).

Guidelines


We do not tolerate:

  • Profanity or offensive language of any kind
  • Racist, sexist, homophobic, slanderous, or threatening messages
  • Aggressive, violent, obscene, sexually explicit, or pornographic comments or images
  • Spamming or self-promotion, including bot accounts
  • Sharing personal information about yourself or another person

Obscenity, adult content/photos, defamation, hate speech (speech targeted towards people or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other protected status), threats, commercial advertisements, or solicitation of funds, endorsement of illegal activities, off-topic posts, spam, sharing of personal information (not limited to email addresses, telephone numbers, mailing or personal addresses, or identification numbers) is prohibited.

Such content will be immediately removed from the NBMS’ platforms (Meta, LinkedIn, or YouTube) and may result in a permanent ban from the NBMS’ online communities.
