NBMS encouraged by government investments in health care
The New Brunswick Medical Society is pleased that the provincial government will increase spending on health care by five per cent in 2021-2022. We welcome the substantial investments into mental health and addictions, physician recruitment, reducing the Patient Connect list, COVID-19 recovery, and other important health-care initiatives announced today.
Our province has long struggled with many critical health-care challenges including a shortage of health-care professionals, long wait times for surgeries, and shortage of mental health and addictions resources. The investments announced in the provincial budget are important, and we look forward to working with government on these and other initiatives to enhance patient access to care.
