The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Funding Program was negotiated as part of the Physician Services Agreement (PSA) with the Province of New Brunswick and is administered by the New Brunswick Medical Society (NBMS). The purpose of this funding is to support physicians by offsetting the monthly EMR software fees associated with operating an EMR system. Physicians who incur recurring monthly costs for managing and maintaining an EMR system for patient medical records may qualify for funding to assist with monthly costs.
As of April 1, 2025, physicians using an non-certified EMR system may receive up to $3,000 per year (maximum $250/month), based on their actual monthly software costs.
Funding for non-certified EMR systems is temporary and will conclude on March 31, 2029.
