Celebration of Medicine Awards Nominations

The New Brunswick Medical Society’s Celebration of Medicine recognizes excellence and achievement by physicians in the medical profession.

Award winners are recognized for their contributions to their patients, their profession, and their communities. The Celebration of Medicine also recognizes physicians with Life Memberships for their years of service, residents for outstanding achievement during their New Brunswick residency training, and students for their leadership, commitment, and dedication in the medical community.

You may nominate a member for the following awards:

  • NBMS Order of Merit
  • Dr. Garfield Moffatt Teaching Award – Centre de formation médicale du Nouveau-Brunswick
  • Dr. Garfield Moffatt Teaching Award – Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick
  • Dr. Donald Morgan Physician Leadership Award
  • Dr. William F. Roberts Political Action Award
  • Distinguished Service Award
  • Dr. Edouard Hendriks Rural Community Physician Award
  • Humanitarian Award
  • NBMS Wellness Award
  • Iype/Wilfred Resident Award
  • Student Leadership Award

Nominate a physician for the 2027 Celebration of Medicine Awards


Please note: Posthumous nominations and self-nominations are not eligible for consideration. 

Members of the NBMS Board of Directors, and the Awards Subcommittee are not eligible for nomination and may not submit nominations during the duration of their terms. Any nominations submitted by, or on behalf of, individuals serving in these roles will be considered invalid and will not be reviewed.

Partners, spouses, immediate family members, and other close personal relations of a physician are not eligible to submit nominations for that physician. Any nominations submitted by individuals in these categories will be considered invalid and will not be reviewed.

All nominators are required to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflict of interest with the nominee. Failure to declare a conflict of interest, or the identification of an undisclosed conflict during the review process, may result in the nomination being deemed ineligible and removed from consideration.

Nominators may be contacted to participate in a brief video interview about the nominee’s achievements, if the nominee is selected to receive the award. This footage may be featured during the Celebration of Medicine Gala.
