Statement on physicians expressing medical opinions

There have been media reports recently about physicians in New Brunswick expressing concerns with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic and the resources available to them to continue to provide care to patients. The New Brunswick Medical Society supports physicians expressing clinical opinions. These are challenging times for health-care providers; asking critical questions about guidelines and the availability of specialized equipment is certainly appropriate. We encourage an open dialogue with both regional health authorities and the province’s physicians.
