Statement on Federal government research funding
The New Brunswick Medical Society is pleased to learn of the research funding granted to the University of New Brunswick and Clinic 554 to study barriers to accessing abortion services and improvements to accessing sexual and reproductive health care. Women, indigenous and 2SLGBTQQIA+ patients have experienced challenges accessing inclusive and specialized health care. Identifying the challenges is the first step to system change. Physicians look forward to participating in the research to provide firsthand clinical input to drive improved patient care.
