The NBMS is looking for a Digital Communications Officer!

The New Brunswick Medical Society is seeking a Digital Communications Officer for a one-year term position.

Working as part of a team and reporting to the Director of Policy and Communications, the new position of Digital Communications Officer will be focused on executing the communications plan of the Medical Society. They will be the primary coordinator for the websites managed by the Medical Society, its social media accounts and related planning, and other online communications activities associated with Medical Society initiatives. They will also regularly interact with members in customer-oriented situations.

The position demands an individual with a strong understanding of writing for online audiences with excellent writing and grammar.  As a part of a small team working within a member-driven organisation, the Digital Communications Officer will have excellent customer service skills and will be motivated by improving access to services for members.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Managing the multiple online communication channels of the Medical Society
  • Developing content for existing social media platforms
  • Measuring and evaluating our online presence
  • Preparing regular communication plans to support events and initiatives
  • Assisting in the implementation of the NBMS’ communications plan
  • Tracking and coordinating member communications


  • Post-secondary education and experience in communications or public relations
  • Strong proficiency in both official languages
  • A familiarity with content management systems, web design, and social media norms
  • Experience in writing, editing, and proof-reading communication documents
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel within New Brunswick
