NBMS Statement on Salaried Physician increase
The government’s Board of Management has approved a 4-year pay review for the Medical Services Pay Plan. The NBMS received notice on Friday that salaried physicians will receive a 4% increase over four years: two years of zero as planned, and two years of 2% increases. This is aligned with wage increases for other public sector workers. The term of that agreement ends on March 31, 2016.
We are pleased that the formal consultation process, agreed to by the NBMS and government, was respected.
We hope that this also signals a return to the defined process for negotiations with fee-for-service physicians for their next agreement beginning April 1, 2014.
