March 11th - Physicians meet with Premier; Province offers choice of two years of "0" at the beginning of the negotiated agreements or two years of "0" at the end.
March 13th - Medical Society Board of Directors meets to consider choices
March 17th - Province tables 2009-10 Budget with reduced Medicare Budget
March 18th - Medical Society Board of Directors meets to further consider choices
March 19th - Physicians meet with Premier to convey Medical Society's choice- honour the terms of the negotiated agreements then implement the Province's policy of two years of "0" after the agreements have expired. A copy of the Society's position statement is left with the Premier.
April 1st - Medical Society receives letter from the Province suggesting further negotiations.
April 4th - Medical Society Board of Directors meets again to consider options.
April 6th - Medical Society sends letters to Government calling for the implementation of the negotiated agreements and committing to accept the Province's policy of two years of "0" after the agreements have expired.
April 23rd - Second "letter of understanding" sent to the Province regarding a commitment to accept the Province's policy of two years of "0" after the negotiated agreements have expired.
May 15th - Medical Society receives letter from the Province advising that that they are "seriously considering" introducing legislation to impose two years of "0" with respect to the years 2008/09 and 2009/10, but would prefer a negotiated settlement that includes "0's" in both of these years.
June 1st - Medical Society meets with Premier to once again call upon him to honor the terms of the negotiated agreements. The Premier says that the Medical Society misunderstood the discussion that occurred at the March 11th meeting.
June 2nd - Minister of Health introduces Bill 93 in the Legislature.
