The health of our patients comes first

The NBMS monitors all health care issues in New Brunswick. Issues that directly affect our patients take top priority in our advocacy work. We develop patient-focused, specific recommendations for distribution to Government, other healthcare organizations, and our members.

Some examples of patient-care issues on our radar:

• Continued access to insured medical services for our patients
• Fetal-maternal health programs and issues
• Transportation safety, including seat belt use and child safety restraint system use
• Primary care reform and making sure every New Brunswick patient has a personal family physician
• Access to appropriate and timely options for long-term care
• Restricting the use of tanning beds by youth
• Promoting healthy lifestyles for New Brunswick families
• Caring for patients with chronic diseases
